From the Cotton Field to Your Wardrobe
Have you ever wondered how many hands a T-shirt passes through before it ends up in your wardrobe? In this post, we’ll take you on the journey of our jonboy garments—from the cotton field to your home.
Production Conditions
Ensuring fair production conditions is one of our core values at jonboy—which is why we selected our production partner with the utmost care. First, we had many conversations with production facilities in different countries. After choosing a partner, we also personally inspected the conditions on site. Our chosen production facility is ISO-, BSCI-, GOTS-, and Sedex-certified. Now, back to the journey!
Organic Cotton from Turkey
It all begins in the cotton fields of Turkey, where our organic cotton is harvested. It is then spun into yarn and processed into high-quality fabric—all in the region to avoid long transport routes.
Dyeing & Washing for the Perfect Fit
The fabric is then dyed at a dye works in Istanbul. A large part of our sustainable production takes place in Turkey: from growing the cotton to spinning, weaving, and dyeing, and finally sewing. We then handle the printing and embroidery in Austria. This keeps our supply chain short, transparent, and environmentally friendly.
Cutting, Sewing & Quality Control
After dyeing, the fabric is cut, and the individual pieces are carefully sewn together. Each garment is then ironed and undergoes a strict quality control—because we want you to enjoy your favorite piece for a long time. All these steps also take place in Turkey, at our production partner in Istanbul.
From Istanbul to Salzburg
Once the clothing is finished, it sets off for Austria. A truck brings the pieces directly from Istanbul to us in Salzburg, where they have one final stop ahead of them.
Finishing in the Protected Workshops
Before the products become available in our online shop, there is one last, very important step: finishing. This is done with great care and attention to detail in the Protected Workshops Salzburg. Storage & Shipping
Finally, the time has come: the clothing is stored with us, waiting to embark on one last journey. As soon as we receive an order, we pack and ship everything ourselves.
